Breakfast at Hoss Intropia

Three weeks ago, Hoss Intropia invited me to the preview of their AW 2014 collection. The event was intimate and very subtly arranged very much the Hoss Way.
For those who don’t know about Hoss Intropia yet, it is a Spanish brand for middle and upper class women which was launched in 1994. Hoss Intropia doesn’t follow trends but they are characterised by a style of their own that is hard to imitate yet easy to recognize.
The breakfast guests included local bloggers and the Marketing Manager of Majed AlFuttaim Group Victoria Menown who flew from Dubai for the event itself. She gave us a wonderful insight of the brand as well as mentioned details of the pieces as well.
This collection is really modest for those who want to follow the Reflect your Respect Campaign. If you have no idea where to shop for modest yet stylish pieces, this is your place.
Here are a few pictures from the event itself.
Here are my favorite picks from the latest collections that will be in store now in Villagio.
The Autumn-Winter 2014 collection evokes the soul of the company.
We find four different themes. The first is Blue Passion or the elegant flower that bears this name. The colours and shading of this flower have inspired the clothes, ranging from ink, navy, blackberry, bougainvillea and poppy to ivory and black. The jacquards stand out, with original colour combinations, geometric shapes, stripes, dots, and animal and vegetable prints. Ethnic embroidery and coats with a masculine cut.
Koroko. This Japanese word, which means heart, soul, mind and feelings and is also the name of one of the most important novels in Japanese literature, written by Natsume Soeki, Kokoro, Sensei’s Testament, reflects “the heart of Hoss Intropia”.
Patterns designed in-house and lines with the brand’s hallmark. Gorgeous prints that bring to mind faraway Japanese landscapes. Delicate, very feminine fabrics. The colours are rose pink, tobacco, fuchsia, turquoise, orange, ochre, camel and taupe, mixed together to recreate the Japanese spirituality of tiny details.
North Sea. A journey into the depths of winter. Colours from the North and the coldest countries, snow covered, with a gloomy sea. Greys, navy blue and bottle green contrast with taupe and ivory. An emphasis on coats and suits with clean lines.
Midnight Shadows. The nights and parties are a dream of sophistication. The choice of fabrics and their savvy combination result in surprising silhouettes. An original treatment is given to guipure lace to create a leather effect that updates the more classic silhouettes. Sequins light up looks that mix velvet with vaporous fabrics. Inspired by oriental elegance.
The autumn-winter 2015 Silver Collection reveals delicate silhouettes where fabrics mix together to take on different textures and volumes. This aesthetic starts out from “folk-country” style patterns and silhouettes, but also has subtle baroque touches, supplied by brocades, embroidery and jewelled appliqués.
One of the strong points is “sports luxe”, a casual aesthetic with soft fabrics interpreted in a sophisticated manner. Slight military touches are also hinted at in the details, but all of them very feminine. A play on geometric shapes can be found in the clothes, in the strategic cuts, but they are very wearable, thanks to their skilfully crafted patterns.
Among the fabrics are velvet and silk plumeti, artificial and patterned silks, lace, embossed fabrics, metallised fabrics and textured woollens.
The new collections that were available to preview during the breakfast will hit stores in August and I will leave you with sneak peaks of my favorite pieces from it as well.
