Last week I received an invitation in my mail which said it was an exclusive-invite only event happening at The Outback Steakhouse on Sunday at 1:00 pm. So, on Sunday I made it to Lagoona Mall which is were the Outback Steakhouse is in Doha, a little before one. We arrived at the restaurant, and it looked to empty for an event. That is when I realized there was no event happening in there. I was invited to review the restaurant. The restaurant is quite so spacious, ambience is great, and they have different kinds of seating as well.
The staff were quite so friendly, and showed us to our seats. We were given the menu, and was also explained what some of the bestsellers were. I opened the menu, and found that it was quite an informative menu. Anyone who is going for the first time to a steak house will be able to easily understand the specialties as they have a brief explanation on the Temperature, and the different cuts.
Obviously, since it is so hot in here, we dived into the drinks menu first. I was informed that they had prepared drinks for us. Little did we know that we had quite a number of them to taste. For those who follow me on snapchat: @khansas.blog, you must have gotten a glimpse of all the drinks that came to my table. For those who don’t here goes the drinks, and the food in order of how they came, and my verdict on each of them
Classic Mojito: A refreshing drink with mint, lemon, cucumber, and some sprite
Verdict: 4.5/5 ( We loved it, it wasn’t too sweet, and it was just what we needed to get some respite from the afternoon heat.)
Strawberry Bull: I was informed that this was the best seller at their store.
Verdict: 3/5 ( Found it a bit too sweet to my liking)
Great Barrier Cooler: A tropical drink with pineapple, and curacao as winning flavors
Verdict: 3/5 (If you are into sweeter drinks, you might like it. I normally prefer tangy, and refreshing combinations)
Sparkling Citrus Cooler: It was very similar to the Classic Mojito but, had strawberry in addition to the mint, lemon, and cucumer.
Verdict: 4.5/5 ( I loved it too)
Combination Appetizer: The combination appetizer comes with sharing portions of Gold Coast Coconut Shrimp with Orange Marmalade, Aussie Cheese Fries with spicy ranch dressing and Kookaburra Wings with creamy blue cheese dressing.
The Coconut Shrimps were the best. The Aussie cheese fries were a favorite for Mr. M. What would I order next time? Probably one serving of the Cheese Fries alone or the Shrimps. The quantity is not less at all.
Queensland Cobb Salad: The salad serving is huge, and one of the best I have ever had in Doha
Verdict: 4.5/5 I could be a brand ambassador for this salad. I loved it!
Toowomba Topped Filet: Filet with sauteed shrimp and mushrooms in tomato sauce. If the words don’t have you drooling, the pictures on the menu will because that is what happened to me.
Verdict: 5/5 This was the best! I could back again just for this dish alone
Flame Grilled Prime Rib: The dish speaks for itself!
Verdict: 4/5 The serving is huge for one person as it comes with sides as well. The flavor is great!
Chocolate Thunder from Down Under: Pecan Brownie crowned with Vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce
Overall Rating: The restaurant has some amazing steaks waiting for you. I can’t vouch for the Toowomba topped filet enough. They were really great! If you are passing by, please don’t forget to try it – one of the best steak dishes I have had from around here.
Please note I was invited as a guest to the restaurant. However, all opinions are mine alone.
